46th Death Anniversary of Alhaj Abdus Sobhan Today

The 46th death anniversary of Alhaj Abdus Sobhan (Advocate), father of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, will be observed today. Alhaj Abdus Sobhan, a renowned lawyer of the Supreme Court, died on August 9, 1975. Born on January 21, 1901, Abdus Sobhan was a renowned social reformer, educationist and lawyer. He contributed a lot to social reforms. Marking his death anniversary, Khatm-e-Quran and special prayers will be held at various mosques and madrasas across the country as well as Banani graveyard. His life and contribution to social reforms will be recalled on the day. Relatives and well-wishers have been requested to pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
