Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd stands by 10,000 families in Gopalganj

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd, a leading sports club of the country, distributed relief items among the distressed people and study materials among students in Kotalipara and Tungipara of Gopalganj on Sunday. Under the guidance of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd Chairman and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the programme was arranged with the assistance of Bashundhara Group, marking the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Apart from distributing relief, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd officials and local political leaders placed a wreath at the shrine of Bangabandhu at Tungipara. They held a milad and doa mahfil seeking eternal peace of the martyrs of the August 15 carnage, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib. A number of 8,000 insolvent families got relief while 2,000 poor students received education materials in Tungipara and Kotalipara. In Kotalipara, 6,000 families received relief and 1,000 students got study materials on the Shilpakala Academy premises. Besides, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd Director Mohammed Golam, Director Maj (retd) Maksudur Rahman, local Awami League leaders and public representatives were present at the event. Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Saleh Jaman Selim said, “Miscreants tried to eliminate the whole family of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975. So, they didn’t spare even innocent Sheikh Russel. They tend to forget that Bangabandhu family can’t be eliminated. Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd is highlighting the name of Sheikh Russel at home and abroad.” “The people of Kotalipara will remember the contribution of Bashundhara Group to the memory of Sheikh Russel. Our leader (Sheikh Hasina) likes Sayem Sobhan Anvir. So, we respect him,” said Mayor Kamal Hossain Sheikh. Sheikh Ainal Hossain said Begum Mujib was a great woman. “Without the support of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could not be a towering figure.” Earlier at 10am, special prayers were held at Kotalipara Awami League office seeking eternal peace of the August 15 martyrs, including Bangabandhu and Fazilatunnesa Mujib. In Tungipara, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd distributed relief among 2,000 poor and destitute families and study materials among 1,000 insolvent students at Tungipara helipad compound. Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra officials handed over the items to presidents and general secretaries of different union units of Awami League. A milad and doa mahfil was held at Father of the Nation’s Mausoleum Complex after Zohr prayers. Special prayers took place seeking salvation of the martyrs of the August 15 carnage. Besides, a wreath was placed at the shrine of Bangabandhu on behalf of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd Chairman and Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir to pay rich tribute and respect to the Father of the Nation. Tungipara upazila Awami League President Abul Basar Khayer, upazila parishad Chairman Solaiman Biswas, upazila Awami League General Secretary Sheikh Babul, municipality unit Awami League President Saiful Islam and General Secretary Forkan Biswas were present. At 3:00 pm, study materials were distributed among children at Sheikh Russel Training and Rehabilitation Centre. Manab Ranjan Basar, assistant director of the centre, was present on the occasion. Meanwhile, food items were distributed among poor people at Tungipara bus stand.
