Pathik Saha Gets Posthumous Recognition

The Chairman of Bashundhara Group Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan came forward to help the family of deceased Chief Reporter of Bangladesh Pratidin Pathik Saha. He declared financial help for the family of the journalist worth Taka 1 million from his personal fund. Co-Chairman of the Bashundhara Group Mr. Sadat Sobhan handed over the cheque to Shilpi Saha and Prashun Saha, wife and son of the departed journalist at the EWMGL office yesterday. Pathik Saha, chief reporter of the daily Banagladesh Pratidin and former general secretary of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU), died of cardiac arrest on January 29, 2011. Mr. Sadat Sobhan expressed great sympathy towards the family of Pathik Saha and assured them of any support they would need in future. Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin Shajahan Sardar, Managing Editor Noim Nizam, Deputy Editors Peer Habibur Rahman and Mahmud Hasan, Advisor (Press & Media) Mohammad Abu Tayeb and Executive Director (Accounts & Finance) of Bashundhara Group Imrul Hassan were also present there.
