Bashundhara Signs MOU With Police Association

An Association of Bangladesh Police and East-West Property Development Private Limited, a sister concern of Bashundhara Group, on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding on land related issues. The signing ceremony took place at the police headquarters. Bashundhara Group Chairman Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan signed the MOU on behalf of the EWPD while three executives of the Bangladesh Police Officers Bohumukhi Samobaya Samity represented the association in the signing ceremony. The Samity’s General Secretary and Joint Police Commissioner (police headquarters) Md. Shahabuddin Koreshi, Organizing Secretary and Commander of Airport Armed Police Battalion Mr. Hasan-ul-Haidar and Office Secretary and Deputy Commissioner (Wari Zone) Mr. Gazi Mozammel Huq signed the MoU on behalf of the association. Addressing the ceremony, Bashundhara Group Chairman Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said the Signing Ceremony worked as a bridge to develop relationship between Bashundhara Group and Bangladesh Police Officers’ Association. By signing the MOU, we have overcome a longstanding land dispute between Bashundhara Group and police association, he said. The dispute occurred when I was abroad. This unpleasant situation would never have happened if I were in the country, said Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan. Since your project is nearby the Bashundhara project, you will get some sort of facilities. From now on, we will consider the Association as a member of the same family, he said. The Bashundhara Chairman hoped that the association would provide all-out cooperation to his group as well. Welcoming the Bashundhara Group Chairman, the Police Officers Association President AIG Shahudul Huq said, “Through the signing ceremony a solidarity, understanding and bridge have been established between the police officers association and Bashundhara Group”. Editor of Daily Sun Prof. Dr. Syed Anwar Husain terming the signing ceremony as exceptional one said, “Many misunderstandings may occur on the way but by removing those, we have to come forward to make a good relationship.” Editor of Bangla daily Kaler Kantho Mr. Abed Khan has termed the signing ceremony as a bridge to develop good relationship. The program was presided over by the Additional Inspector General of Police and President of the police officers Samity Mr. AKM Shahudul Haq. Chairman of East-West Media Group Limited Mr. Mustafa Kamal Mohiuddin, Editor of Daily Sun, Prof Dr Syed Anwar Husain, Editor of Kaler Kantho, Mr. Abed Khan, Editor of BanglaNews24.com, Mr. Alamgir Hossain, Managing Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, Mr. Naim Nijam and Executive Editor of Daily Sun Mr. Syed Ahmeduzzaman were also present at the Signing Ceremony.
