An agreement was signed between Bashundhara Dredging Company Limited and Abdul Monem Limited Sunday to jointly help government implement its master plan for ensuring the navigability of the country’s major rivers through capital dredging. Bashundhara Group Chairman Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Chairman & Managing Director of Abdul Monem Limited Mr. Abdul Monem signed the deal on behalf of their respective companies at the secretariat office of the BG Chairman. Under the agreement, the two companies will conduct capital dredging in 22 kilometers of Jamuna River to maintain its navigability in two years as well as prevent huge river erosion on both banks of the river. Although the Bashundhara Dredging Company Limited is a nascent organization in dredging sector, it is well equipped with ultra-modern dredging equipment. On the other hand, Abdul Monem Limited has 20 years of experience in the dredging sector. Managing Director of Asian Dredging Company Md. Shameem Reza, Executive Director of Bashundhara Dredging Company Limited Md. Fakruddin, Deputy Managing Director (1) of Abdul Monem Limited Mr. ASM Mainuddin Monem, Deputy Managing Director (2) Mr. ASM Mahiuddin Monem and high officials of the organizations were present at the signing ceremony. “The joint efforts of the two leading business organizations will help the government implement its master plan and create job for around 1000 people,” the function was told.
