2nd Season of 'Quraner Noor- Powered by Bashundhara Group' is Starting

A new dimension will be added to Quraner Noor, a Koranic recitation contest, as foreign participants alongside Bangladeshis will take part in the event this time.
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee will organise the mega Islamic event–‘Quraner Noor International Hifzul Quran Competition-2024’– for the second time patronized by Bashundhara Group, the country’s leading business conglomerate. As per their earlier commitment, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir will help arrange the event internationally. The competition will be held in three phases -- the selection round, the national round and the international round. Any hafiz, aged below 16, will be eligible to participate in the competition that will kick off soon, said organisers of a press conference at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital. Musalli Committee President Eakub Ali briefed the media while General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Manik made the address of welcome. Musalli Committee Senior Vice-President Gulzar Ahmed, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Senior Imams Mizanur Rahman, Muhibullah Baki Al Nadvi, globally acclaimed Quran reciter Ahmad Bin Yusuf Azhari, Kaler Kantho Deputy Editor Haider Ali and News24 Television Deputy Chief News Editor Ashikur Rahman Srabon were present on the occasion. The country has been divided into 11 regions to hold the programme in a smooth way, they said. Besides, participants from different Muslim-majority countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Türkiye will take part in it. The organisers also said that they would soon request interested hafizes to register online. The recorded programme will be aired on News24 Television and its YouTube channel from the first day of Ramadan, they added. Noted Islamic scholar Shaykh Qari Ahmad Bin Yusuf Al Azhari, Baitul Mukarram Senior Imam Muhammad Muhibullahil Baki, Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Mufti Ehsanul Haque Jilani, Maulana Mohiuddin Kashemi were present as the guest of honour on the occasion. Musalli Committee President Eakub Ali said, “A distinguished panel including noted Islamic scholars will sort out top winners from the selection round. The national champion of the competition will be awarded Tk 1 million while international champion will receive Tk 1.5 million,” he said. Musalli Committee Senior Vice-President Gulzar Ahmed expressed his profound gratitude to Bashundhara Group Managing Director for lending a helping hand to devotees at national mosque on different occasions. “Bashundhara Group always extends supports to Islamic activities. Around 10,000 contestants took part in the first edition of the competition,” he said.
