Kaler Kantho celebrates 12th founding anniv

Bangla newspaper Kaler Kantho has completed an era of objective journalism upholding the spirit of liberation war.

The newspaper began its journey on January 10, 2010 as a traditional broadsheet publication under East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL), a unit of Bashundhara Group.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir inaugurated a daylong celebration as chief guest at head office of the newspaper in the capital on Monday.

He wished a good transition of the daily into the 13th year, congratulating the journalists and employees of the newspaper.

EWMGL Director Imdadul Haq Milan, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, Kaler Kantho Editor Shahed Mohammad Ali, News24 TV Executive Editor Rahul Raha and Daily Sun Executive Editor Rezaul Karim Lotus attended the cake-cutting ceremony.

Bashundhara Group Media Adviser Mohammad Abu Tayeb and EWMGL publisher Maynal Hossain Chowdhury were also present on the occasion. The newspaper celebrated the anniversary in a scaled-down manner amid pandemic situation.

Addressing the programme, noted littérateur Imdadul Haq Milan said all the outlets under EWMGL are dominating the country’s media industry under the dynamic guidance of Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

He also expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan for making all his dreams come true by giving continuous support and wise instructions.

Various political parties, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Bangladesh University of Professionals, Food Panda, bKash, Nagad, RR Imperial Ltd, Bikroy.com, Runner, Xiaomi, OPPO, Minister, Walton, Islami Bank, Masthead PR,  Private University Public University Relation Officers Association, Bangladesh Transport Owners Association, ASA University, Social Islami Bank,  Bengal Commercial Bank,  Amin Mohammad Group, various newspaper hawkers associations,  PRAN, DUJ, DRU, CRAB and various media outlets of EWMGL also congratulated the Kaler Kantho.

The anniversary was also celebrated in Kaler Kantho’s other offices in the country.
