BAJUS wants to bring jewellers under single umbrella

Speakers at a programme said Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) intends to bring all the jewellers across the country under a single umbrella, which, they believe, will help gold traders get rid of all forms of harassment.

The good days jewellers had are back now under the leadership of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, they said.

Speakers came up with the remarks while addressing a views-exchange meeting organised by BAJUS Kishoreganj District Committee in the district on Monday.

They expressed the hope that jewellery business will surpass all the trades under the leadership of the BAJUS President, an icon to jewellery traders.

Not only that, gold business will be elevated to international standards, they said, adding that those who have not yet become members of BAJUS should register soon in order to strengthen the organisation for their own sake.

“We trade in the most precious metals. We are proud to do this business. Everyone has to work to fulfil the dream of the BAJUS President.”

They said that at present 40,000 members all over country are united under the leadership of Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

Such a time will come when gold traders cannot do business without being a member of BAJUS, they said.

They further said that consumers should not be deceived and their rights must be protected. Gold has to be sold at a single rate throughout the country. If anyone charges less than the stated amount, customers should understand that the gold is not good quality, they added.

Pabitra Chandra Ghosh, a member of the BAJUS Central Executive Committee and the District Monitoring Standing Committee, addressed the event as the chief guest while Kishoreganj BAJUS District President Gazi Jamal Uddin presided over the programme.

Chandan Kumar Ghosh, a member of BAJUS District Monitoring Standing Committee, spoke as the special guest.
