Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) President and country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir said everyone will have to work together to take the gold industry forward.
He said this while inaugurating the own office of the BAJUS, Chattogram unit at Arshi Rangam Tower in the city’s Kotwali area on Sunday.
The BAJUS president said, “Those who are in BAJUS are a family.”
“We will take the industry forward together. We all will have to work together to take the journey of gold industry forward,” said the president wishing success of the organisation in future endeavours.
BAJUS Chattogram President Mrinal Kanti Dhar, Vice President Sudhir Ranjan Banik, Sidul Kanti Dhar, Dilip Kumar Dhar, Haradhan Mahajan, Biplab Basak, Liton Kanti Dhar, Jishu Banik, General Secretary Pranab Saha, former General Secretary Mustafizur Rahman, Advocate Amal Krishna Dhar, Assistant Secretary Kajal Banik, Pradip Guha, Amit Dhar, Hiranmoy Dhar, Sukumar Dey, Md Shahjahan Siddiqui, Khokon Dhar, Mohammad Nurul Haque, Sujit Kumar Dhar, Treasurer Pratap Dhar, Executive Members Mina Nath Dhar, Gopinath Dhar, Rubel Kanti Dhar, Tapan Kanti Dhar, Swapan Chowdhury, Rani Vanik, Mintu Dhar, Shambhu Dhar, Rajib Dhar Tamal, Barun Hazari, Biplab Kanti Dhar, Swapan Kumar Dhar, Nurul Abshar Chowdhury, Rupon Kanti Dhar, Shantunu Banik and Dilip Kumar Banik were present at the inaugural ceremony.
BAJUS Chattogram General Secretary Pranab Saha said, “Today is an important and memorable day for BAJUS Chattogram chapter.”
BAJUS Chattogram chapter now plays divisional role. The organisation President Sayem Sobhan Anvir has been playing the key role for making BAJUS well-organised, observed the general secretary.
“Following his inspiration and leadership, the present BAJUS is much more dynamic and faster than the earlier one,” he said.
“The Chattogram chapter has been running with transparency and accountability, and maintaining organisational rules. The committee has proved it through its works over the last one year,” said Pranab.
“The organisation is now also much stronger and well-organised. A well-furnished office in a beautiful environment was a long-standing expectation of all members of the BAJUS Chattogram to speed up the organisational activities,” he said.
In response, the committee in cooperation with all developed the well-equipped, digital, well-decorated and up-to-date office, which is rare in the gold industry of Bangladesh, said the general secretary.
In the second session, Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the oganisation was held at Rima Convention Center at city’s SS Khaled Road.
President Mrinal presided over the meeting while General Secretary Pranab Saha presented the annual report. BAJUS Chattogram Senior Vice President Sudhir Ranjan Banik, Vice President Liton Kanti Dhar, former General Secretary Suresh Chandan Dhar, Sudip Karmakar and Md Alamgir addressed the programme among others.
Speakers at the meeting said jewellers across the country have now woken up under the leadership of the BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
The organisation has now become a model business organisation across the country. BAJUS could express the courage to develop office spending huge money as Sayem Sobhan Anvir is at its leadership, they observed.
Once, the gold traders of the country were harassed in various ways. But, no businessman had to serve in jail or faced harassment since Anvir, Chattogram President Mrinal and General Secretary Pranab came to the leadership, they added.
