President, PM greet daily sun on its anniversary

President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated daily sun, a media outlet of East West Media Group Limited, on stepping into the ninth year of its publication.

daily sun, a new-generation English newspaper, started its journey on October 24 in 2010 with the slogan, ‘True and impartial’, and eventually earned a huge popularity among the readers at home and abroad.

In a message, President Abdul Hamid has congratulated the management, newsmen, contributors, readers, patrons and distributors of the newspaper.

“The role of newspapers and journalists is of paramount importance in flourishing democracy and establishing just and equitable society for any country. Media play a vital role in upholding the constitution, promoting human rights, establishing rule of law and ensuring development of the country,” he said.

In a separate message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she is very happy to know that the daily sun is steeping into the ninth year of its publication.
“I would like to congratulate the management, newsmen and readers of the newspaper on the occasion,” she said.

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has also given a message congratulating the daily sun on its eighth anniversary. 

He said Bashundhara Group came into being three decades ago with a clear aim and objective to serve the people and the country. He said starting its journey with East West Property Development Limited in 1987, the company kept widening its areas of business and already entered almost all major industrial and business sectors to attain the objectives.
