Ghorashal power plant to use Bashundhara Cement

Bashundhara Cement will be used to build the infrastructure of the proposed Ghorashal 300-450MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Narsingdi. The Chinese Northeast Electric Power Engineering Company (NEPC) will implement the power project. Bashundhara Cement will supply more than 70,000 tons of cement for the project in the next two years as per a deal signed with NEPC on Wednesday, says a press release. The deal was signed between NEPC and Bashundhara Cement, a concern of the country's leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, at hotel Le Meridien in the city. Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Managing Director (MD) of Bashundhara Group, and NEPC project manager Liu Sheng signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Sources said NEPC has decided to use Bashundhara Cement to build the infrastructure of the power plant after inspecting the manufacturing plant of Bashundhara Cement, the country's largest cement factory equipped with latest VRM technology to produce premium quality cement. NEPC site manager Long Min and top officials of Bashundhara Cement were also present at the deal signing ceremony.
