Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament 2016 concludes in Rangpur

After three days of consecutive golfing, Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament 2016 has come to a successful end amidst mega prize giving ceremony which took place on Friday at the premises of Rangpur Golf Club (RGC) in Rangpur Cantonment. Bashundhara Group, country's leading business conglomerate, sponsored the three-day long meet. In the morning, Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament 2016 teed off with a colourful opening ceremony held at Rangpur Golf Club ground in Rangpur. Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Md Masud Razzaque,ndc, afwc, psc, officially inaugurated the exciting golf contest as the chief guest. Safwan Sobhan, Vice Chairman of Bashundhara Group, attended the opening ceremony as special guest to usher the mood of the grand event. Head of HR and Adviser (Public Relations) of Bashundhara Group Lieutenant Colonel (retd.) Khandaker Abdul Wahed was also present on the occasion. More than 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from all over the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the tournament. In the male group, golfer Brigadier General Md Amin Akbar, spp, afwc, psc, secured the first position while golfer Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, hdmc, psc, won the best gross award. Golfer Lieutenant Colonel Shah Zulfiquer Ali became the runner-up while Major General Md Masud Razzaque bagged the second best gross award. Lieutenant Colonel Elias became the second runner up while golfer Dr Zabed won the third best gross award. Lieutenant Colonel Imrul won the nearest to pin award, golfer Colonel Ashraf secured the maxim par award while golfer Nafi, son of Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, won award for making the longest drive. In female group, golfer Mrs Shahida Fazal became the winner while golfer Nasrine Haque Bobby was awarded for becoming the best gross. Sumaiya Haque Subah earned the first position while Fida became the runner-up in junior group. Wadi clinched the first position and Zara became the runner up in the sub-Junior Group. President of Rangpur Golf Club Major General Masud Razzaque distributed awards among the winners during the mega prize giving and closing ceremony in the evening. Members and officials of Rangpur Golf Club and Bashundhara Group officials attended the prize giving ceremony. The prize-giving ceremony was followed by Raffle Draw and a colourful cultural function where music, songs and dances were presented by the local artists.
