Bashundhara Group MD Stands by Photojournalist Didarul’s Family

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir hands over a cheque for Tk 1 million to the family members of deceased photojournalist Didarul Alam in Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital recently. Didarul, who worked at the Chattogram bureau of Bangladesh Pratidin, died of Covid-19 on August 19. 

Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam was also present on the occasion.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir has given Tk 1 million in financial assistance to the family of deceased photojournalist Didarul Alam. Didarul, a Chattogram-based journalist of the most widely-circulated daily Bangladesh Pratidin, died of coronavirus infections on August 19. 

Sayem Sobhan Anvir handed over a cheque to Didarul’s wife Dilruba Begum and daughter Shamanta Didar Dighi at his residence in the capital recently. Rongdhanu Group Chairman Rafiqul Islam, Bashundhara Group Media Advisor Mohammad Abu Tayeb, noted writer and Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milan, Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, Banglanews24.com Editor Jewel Mazhar and NEWS24 Head of News Rahul Raha were also present on the occasion. Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam highly appreciated the role of Bashundhara Group for the welfare of journalists. “The business conglomerate has been discharging social responsibilities as a media-friendly group,” he said. 

Chattogram Union of Journalist President Mohammad Ali and General Secretary M Shamsul Islam were also present.
