Bashundhara Group Stands Beside Disabled Children

Country’s one of the largest business conglomerates Bashundhara Group will continue their effort for nurturing talents of the children with disabilities.

Bashundhara Group director Yeahsa Sobhan Nabila came up with the remarks at a reception programme to the ‘Special Olympic World Summer Games 2015’ medal winners as special guest at SWID Convention Center in the city Tuesday.

Sponsored by Bashundhara Group, Society for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled (SWID)-Bangladesh arranged the programme.

State minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam was present at the reception programme as chief guest while Dilara Mostafa, President of Manikganj district chapter of SWID was present as the special guest.

Yeahsa Sobhan said, “It’s a great pleasure that children with disabilities are exploring their talents. In future, they will contribute to the development of country as well as for the welfare of country people”.

Congratulating the winners she further said, “All the winners have brought honor for the country by winning medals.”

She assured them that Bashundhara Group will always stand beside the disabled children.

“Go ahead and Bashundhara Group has planned to do more for the disabled children so that they can fulfill their dream,” she said.

On behalf of the Bashundhara Group she handed over TK.5000 cheque to each winner and made promise to sponsor SWID Bangladesh in future for exploring latent talent of disabled children.

She also urged the country people to extend their love for them and stand beside disabled children.

State minister for Textile and Jute Mirza Azam said that once children with disability was considered as burden of family, but now they have proved that they are well capable of achieving honour and pride.

He also promised of constructing training center for people with disabilities in every district.

A total of 82 Bangladeshi participants participated in Special Olympics world summer games 2015.  They secured 18 gold medals among 54 prizes they bagged.

Presided over by SWID Bangladesh president Mohammed Moslem, among others, additional secretary to Prime Minister Office Kabir Bin Anwar, additional secretary of social welfare ministry Khandker Atiar Rahman and National Para-Olympic Committee president Zakir Ahmed were present at the programme.
