The meeting was presided over by top sports patron, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, leading industrial and business conglomerates in the country and chairman of Sheikh Russel, Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Russel KC vice chairman Mir Samir, Director in Charge of Sheikh Russel Ismat Jamil Akanda, Sheikh Russel Director Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Vice-president Golam Rabbani Helal, Sheikh Russel Director of Sports Saleh Jaman Selim, Director Khaza Raza, Editor of Daily Kaler Kantho Emdadul Haq Milon, Editor of Daily Bangladesh Pratidin Naeem Nizam and other officials were also present on the occasion.

The meeting was started with one-minute silence to pay tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. However, a number of decisions were taken during the meeting ahead of the National Mourning Day.

Sheikh Russel will visit Banani Graveyard in the city and pay homage to martyrs of August 15 and will build an archway with the tribute to the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban on Road 32 in Dhanmondi marking the 42nd death anniversary.

After that, Sheikh Russel is due to visit Tungipara on August 21 to place floral wreaths at the mazar of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sheikh Russel’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on September 12 which is scheduled to take place at chairman of Sheikh Russel KC, Sayem Sobhan Anvir’s residence.

This year Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra decided to organise the 51st birthday of Sheikh Russel on October 18, youngest son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in a lavish mood where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present as chief guest in various events including a probable friendly football match between Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra. A table tennis championship is likely to take place on the same day.
