News 24 Celebrates First Anniversary

The first anniversary of News24, a round-the-clock news broadcasting channel and a sister concern of Daily Sun in East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL), was celebrated amid festivity in the port city on Friday.   
A colourful gathering was held marking the anniversary at the channel’s Chittagong studio at Karnaphuli Tower in the city’s Kazir Dewri area.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the programme cutting a cake with other guests.
Lawmakers MA Latif and Waseka Ayesha Khan, Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Pro-VC Prof Dr Shireen Akhter, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Md Iqbal Bahar, Chittagong Wasa Managing Director Engineer AKM Fazlullah, former lawmaker Majharul Hoque Shah, Peshajibi Samannaya Parishad President Dr AQM Sirajul Islam, Muktijoddha Sangsad Chittagong district Commander Shahabuddin Ahmed, Chittagong Press Club former President and TV Journalist Association President Ali Abbas, Press Club General Secretary Suklal Das, Kaler Kantho Chittagong Bureau Chief Mustafa Nayeem, Banglanews24.com Chittagong Bureau Editor Tapan Chakraborty, Chittagong City BNP President Dr Shahadat Hossain, Awami League Chittagong South District Unit General Secretary Mafizur Rahman and Albion Group Chairman Raisul Uddin Saikat attended the programme among others.
The channel Chittagong Bureau Chief Reaz Hyder Chowdhury conducted the programme.
Different organisations also greeted the News24 with floral bouquets throughout the day.
CCC Mayor AJM Nasir, in his speech, said that News24 could gain the trust of its viewers within short time and turned into a popular channel gradually.
The mayor expected that the channel will remain ahead in focusing potentials and problems on the way of development of Chittagong.
The other guests also hoped that the channel will play significant role for advancement of Chittagong further.
News24 Bureau Chief Reaz Hyder thanked well-wishers, viewers and advertisers for their contribution to the media outlet and hoped to get it continued in future.
