Bashundhara promises to stand by CRAB - The Asian Age
Bangladesh leading industrial group authority wishes to give a permanent office for the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), a body of the crime reporters working in different media outlets in the capital.
 
The office bearers of the CRAB called on the group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Sunday. The journalist team led by CRAB President Mirza Mehedi Tamal paid the courtesy call.
 
During the meeting, members of the CRAB Advisory Council Shankar Kumar Dey, Khairuzzaman Kamal, SM Abul Hossain, Parvez Khan, Madhusudan Mandal and Fakhrul Alam Kanchan, its General Secretary Asaduzzaman Biku, vice-president Jahangir Alam, joint secretary Imran Hossain Sumon, finance secretary Saiful Islam Montu, organising secretary Ataur Rahman, and former general secretary Dipu Sarwar were present.
 
Asaduzzaman Biku presented the organization's expectations on behalf of the executive committee. Anvir paid heed their issues and Basundhara MD said, "Bashundhara Group authority believes the welfare of journalists as they are used to doing important role for the country and the nation. Bashundhara Group has already established several media houses to create jobs for journalists and develop honest, fearless and objective trend of journalism."
 
"Bashundhara Group has sincerely stood by the journalists when they asked for help in case of any problem or crisis. Journalists are welcome to come to him in time of their adversary.  He assured the CRAB office bearers for a permanent office as soon as possible. He also provided Tk. 3 lakh to the family in case of death of a CRAB member, and a minimum assistance of Tk 50,000 if any CRAB member is seriously ill or injured while performing professional duties.
