Bashundhara LP Gas wins best award

Bashundhara LP Gas, a concern of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, won the best stall award under the private sector category in the Energy Fair that concluded at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on Saturday. The three-day fair was held as part of the National Power and Energy Week-2015. The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and Saif Powertech also won the best stall prizes under different categories. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid gave away the awards to the winners at the closing ceremony. Md Abdus Shukur, Head of Supply Chain Division, Bashundhara LP Gas, Bashundhara Group, received the award. A total of 303 stalls of 160 organisations, including research organisations, universities and companies, took part in the energy fair. In its stall, Bashundhara LP Gas displayed gas cylinders of various sizes suitable for use in homes and also other cylinders designed for vehicles. LPG vapourizers and other kits for auto gas conversion were also put on display. Expressing reaction on winning the award, Engr. Md Jahidul Islam, Head of Division (Operation & Planning), Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd., said winning the best prize is really a great experience. “During the fair, our stall members have demonstrated to the visitors how to use LP Gas safely and also briefed on different aspects of LP Gas use,” he said, adding that a large number of visitors including businessmen, entrepreneurs, dealers, retailers and general consumers thronged the stall. Most businessmen and entrepreneurs have shown interest in auto LP gas converter and vaporizer as LP gas is safe to use and environment-friendly, he said.
