Bashundhara Group Gave Food to 250 Needy Families

Bashundhara Group, one of the leading business conglomerates in the country, provided food items for 250 needy families in Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur on Saturday. The food items were handed out at Badarganj Municipality High School playground from the personal fund of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan. Each of the households received 5 kg ‘Miniket’ rice, 2 kg lentil, 1 litre soybean oil, 2 kg onion, 1 kg salt, 1 kg vermicelli, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg flour and one soap. Upazila Jubo League convener Hasan Tabikur Chowdhury alias Polin was present on the occasion. Besides, Badarganj Press Club President Mahfujar Rahman, Bashundhara Food and Beverage’s Divisional Manager Abdul Gaffar, Territory Sales Executive Rabiul Islam and Badarganj distributor Md Ahmad Ullah were also present. The guests appreciated the noble initiative of the Bashundhara Group for lending its support to the underprivileged people who have become workless during the general holidays. Speaking on the occasion, Polin Chowdhury said, Bashundhara Group stands by the people when the nation is gripped by any crisis. The Group has once again stood by the poor and helpless people, he added. “We are grateful to them. We hope that Bashundhara Group will always lend its support during the crisis.” Other speakers said Bashundhara Group is working for the welfare of the country and its people. In particular, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan is making immense contribution to the betterment of the country in various fields. They expressed their gratitude on behalf of the people of Badarganj for distribution of relief among the distressed and poor people. Mandu Mia from the municipality, who received humanitarian assistance, said, “Big companies provide relief outside. No-one came to our area. Now Bashundhara Group has sent relief for us. That is why I pray for Bashundhara.”
