Bashundhara distributes holy Qurans to students

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate in the country, distributed free copies of the holy Quran among the students, ranging from ninth- to twelfth-graders, in Banchharampur Upazila in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday. Students of 14 educational institutions, including Banchharampur University College, out of 36 ones in the upazila, were handed out the copies of the holy book while the remaining institutions are due to receive today. A total of 9,357 copies of the Quran will be distributed. Adviser of Bashundhara Group (Treasurer) Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, also the publisher of daily sun, gave out the copies of the book. Each student got a copy of the Quran while five copies were given to the library of each institution. Among others, DGM of Bashundhara Group Mymun Kabir, Engineer Md Shafiqul Islam, Manager of Bashundhara Foundation Mosharraf Hossain, Field Supervisor Anwar Hossain, Principal of Banchharampur Islamia Sobania Alim Madrasa Maulana Ruhul Amin and Principal of Banchharampur University College Abdur Rahim were present on the occasion. Following the distribution programme, a discussion was held at the auditorium of Banchharampur University College. Abdur Rahim presided it over. Maynal Hossain attended the event as the chief guest while Ruhul Amin were present as the special guest. In his speech, Maynal Hossain said: “We distributed three exercise books to each student of primary schools a few days ago. In the second phase, we are giving the holy Quran.” He also said Bashundhara Foundation is relentlessly working to reduce poverty by giving interest-free loan to the impoverished community in Banchharampur.
