Bashundhara Cement, a concern of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, on Tuesday signed an agreement with Freyssinet Menard Northern Emirates LLC for supplying cement for construction of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

Sobhan and Freyssinet Menard Northern Emirates LLC area director Olivier Bechet signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations held at Le Méridien in the city.
Under the deal, Bashundhara Group will supply a total of 3 lakh metric tonnes of Bashundhara Cement for the construction work of the much-awaited nuclear power plant at Ishwardi in Pabna.
Among others, Bashundhara Group Senior Deputy Managing Director Belayet Hossain, Adviser of Bashundhara Group Major General (Retd) Mahbub Haider, Adviser (Treasurer) Maynal Hossain Chowdhury, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Md. Tofail Hossain, Head of Sales (Cement Sector) Khandker Kingshuk Hossain, Deputy General Manager (Technical Support) Saroj Kumar Barua, Freyssinet Menard Northern Emirates LLC Deputy Managing Director Cyril Plomteux, start up Project Manager Pascal Martin Daguet, Project Manager Kiril Tushin, Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon were also present at the signing ceremony.
After assessing the quality of the cement, production capability of the factories and supply system, the company decided to use Bashundhara Cement at Rooppur nuclear power plant.
