Benaa dates generate buzz globally

Bangladeshi entrepreneur Hafez Ziaur Rahman is surprising everybody by producing dates in the desert of Saudi Arabia. The demand for premium quality dates of his company Benaa Foods is increasing in different countries, including Bangladesh.

Apart from dates, dry fruits, juice, honey, milk, noodles, nuts, drinks and other hygienic food items are on the list of his company.

Having procured from Madina, the dates of Benaa Foods carry the original taste and flavour. The company is exporting Ajwa, Safawi, Amber, Mabroom, Maryam, Mashruk, Medjool, Sugai and other premium quality dates of Saudi Arabia to different countries.

Ziaur Rahman, hailing from Dohar in Dhaka, travelled to Saudi Arabia in 1991. He established an electrochemical company which is engaged in work in mega structures and towers in Makkah and Madina.

Benaa International Company Ltd, which launched its journey six years ago, has earned a good name across the globe.

Although its Chairman Ziaur Rahman lives abroad, he is working relentlessly for the cause of the country and its people. 

“Our main objective is to market fresh and formalin-free dates. We’re reaching out to customers with pure dates though the market is flooded with various kinds of spurious foods. Benaa Foods guarantees customers 100 percent pure products. A buyer has the scope of returning any product if he/she doesn’t like it,” he said.

Ziaur Rahman said the company representatives procure dates of best quality and size directly from date farms in Madina and those are preserved naturally and hygienically without the use of any chemical. Packaging of the dates is done under the supervision of the company.

He said Benaa International has an office in Bangladesh at House-114, Road-15 and Sector-14 of Uttara in the capital.

The Benaa Foods chairman exchanged views and shared his success story with Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir who visited Saudi Arabia recently for performing Umrah.

On his arrival, Sayem Sobhan Anvir was accorded a reception by Ziaur Rahman. The Benaa International chairman also handed over dates of his company to the Bashundhara Group managing director at that time.

“We (Benaa Foods) are the No. 1 brand for dates. We’re also the best in providing Umrah services. We have our own date farms in Madina. We export dates to Bangladesh and other countries. Benaa International has earned a good name for its pure dates and food items,” Ziaur Rahman said. About ample Umrah facilities for Bangladeshis, he said the government of Saudi Arabia has imposed restrictions on the pilgrims of different countries except Bangladesh. “Bangladeshi citizens are fortunate enough to be permitted by the Saudi authorities to perform Umrah. Half of Bangladeshi pilgrims come to Saudi Arabia through Benaa International. We’ll try to deliver better services in future adhering to the Saudi government’s rules.”

The Benaa International owner said they have their own transport agency approved by the Saudi authorities to ensure uninterrupted movement of the visitors. The pilgrims can travel by buses, microbuses and small vehicles of the company.

About accommodation, he said, “The clients of Benaa International can stay in five/four/three star hotels. We’re committed to delivering all services properly in line with the Saudi government’s rules. We’re grateful to all of our travel agents in Bangladesh for giving best Umrah services.”
