Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir has been awarded the ‘Best Excellence Award 2021’ for his outstanding contributions to trade and commerce.
He received the award given by the Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) in a ceremony in Dhaka on Monday.
IICCI President Atul Kumar Saxena handed over the award to the Bashundhara Group managing director.
Receiving the award, Sayem Sobhan Anvir thanked India for standing by Bangladesh all the time.
“I hope it will remain forever,” he said.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir took the award at the function held in honour of Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun was present at the ceremony as the chief guest while Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Md Zahangir Alam was present as the guest of honour.
IICCI Vice-President Syed Shameem Reza and its CEO Sukanta Kashari Sumon were present on the occasion.
The industries minister said friendship between Bangladesh and India has been strengthened in all aspects, including economic and trade relations.
Addressing the function, Doraiswami said, “We see the future of India and Bangladesh through business.”
“Business means shared growth, business means prosperity together. Because business is about creating something new which we have built together,” he said.
“Through trade, we can build partnership that develops investment and joint ventures,” the Indian HC added.
