Bashundhara Group donates Tk20 lakh to newspaper hawkers

Bashundhara Group on Tuesday donated Tk20 lakh to the newspaper hawkers to help them overcome the financial hardships caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. 

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir handed over the donation cheques to Newspaper Hawkers Bahumukhi Somobai Samity Circulation Manager Abul Kalam and Newspaper Hawkers Kalyan Bahumukhi Somobai Samity General Secretary Sahabuddin. 

While distributing the cheques, Sayem Sobhan Anvir wished Eid Mubarak to all newspaper hawkers.  

The event was held at Bashundhara Group Headquarters 1 in the capital where Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam and other high officials were present. 

Earlier, Bashundhara Group provided food items to 2,000 newspaper hawkers. 

The country's largest business conglomerate has continued food support to the underprivileged people who have become workless following the spread of coronavirus in the country.

As part of corporate social responsibility, officials and volunteers of the group went door-to-door and distributed combo packets of food among the poor people across the country
