Bashundhara Group distributes relief in Rangpur

In Rangpur, 250 Hawkers and Poor People Received Food Items of Kaler Kantha Shubasangh

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate in the country, distributed relief materials among the distressed families in different places of Rangpur on Friday.

Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bengali national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided relief through its social organisation Shuvasangha.

Around 300 vulnerable and corona-affected families received relief and facemasks on Kaunia Girls’ High School premises in Kaunia upazila.

Zamila Begum, an elderly recipient of the relief, said no one except Bashundhara Group stood by her in the critical stage of life.

“I’m now 95 years old. Nobody helps me. Even no one gives me some hot water. Bashundhara relief is of great help to me. May Allah give you (Bashundhara) more ability to help the poor and destitute,” she said.

Abbas Ali, an inhabitant of the area, said he was a tea vendor but his shop is closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, he supports his family by agricultural work.

“It is hard for me to shoulder responsibility of a six-member family by agricultural work. The relief distribution on the part of Bashundhara Group is timely initiative. I pray for Bashundhara Group Chairman. May Allah bless him.”

Speaking on the occasion, Kaunia UNO Tahmina Tarin said, “I thank Bashundhara Group Chairman for taking the noble initiative in the critical juncture of the country.”

She has also prayed for Shuvasangha so that the organisation can conduct more ‘shuva’ (good) work in future.

Freedom fighter Sardar Abdul Hakim, Kaunia OC Masumur Rahman, Shuvasangha director Zakaria Jaman, general secretary Shamim Al Mamun, member Mahdi Ashraf Jibon, Kaunia Girls’ High School headmaster Tozammel Haque were present, among others.

Meanwhile, 250 hawkers and destitute at Rangpur Sadar upazila received relief and masks from Bashundhara Group the same day.

They got the relief on the RCCI Public School and College premises in Rangpur.

Bashundhara Group also distributed relief among poor people at Kandirhat School and College at Pirgacha upazila.

Speaking on the occasion, Pirgacha upazila chairman Shah Md Mahbubur Rahman said, “We offer special thanks to Shuvasangha for standing by the marginal class of people in the critical time. Bashundhara Group always shows magnanimity to the vulnerable people. I thank Bashundhara Group Chairman from the core of my heart for relief distribution in all districts of the country.”
