Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir said the country will export gold ornaments.
He said: “Bangladesh no more believes in import. From now, the country’s jewellers will export gold ornaments”.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir made the remarks attending as the chief guest a lunch meeting with leaders of Indian jwellery stalwarts at Le Meridien Dhaka on Thursday (June 2).
BAJUS will open a new horizon in export, he said adding that the leaders of the sector have invited Indian investment and technical supports in this regard.
The president of BAJUS asked India to invest in setting up jewelry factory in Bangladesh. Besides, he said that Bangladesh now want to export gold jewelery to the global market.
BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir also unveiled cover of the upcoming B2B Summit titled 'Sonar Bangla' to be held on June 26 and 29 in Goa, India.
Kanti Nagevekar, a member of the Indian jewelery delegation visiting Dhaka and founder of KNC Services spoke in the event.
Hasmukh Parkhe, convener and HPJ director and founder of B2B Summit titled 'Sonar Bangla', BAJUS vice presidents Gulzar Ahmed, Anwar Hossain and Badal Chandra Roy, treasurer Uttam Banik were present in the event.
