Three Voluntary Organisations Gets Donations for Social Welfare

Bangladesh Association of Bankers (BAB), investors in export processing zone, Bashundhara Group and some other business entities have donated money to three voluntary organisations to facilitate work for social welfare, education and rehabilitation of the autistic people.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the donation cheques from 37 banks and other business entities at Ganabhaban in the capital on Monday evening.
The money recipients are Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust, the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust Fund, and Shuchona Foundation run by her daughter Saima Wazed Hossain.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Army Chief Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad and BAB President Nazrul Islam Majumder were present on the occasion, among others.
BAB President Nazrul Islam Majumder greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with a bouquet on behalf of 27 of its representatives.
The premier thanked the BAB for standing by her government in its bid to help the physically-and mentally-challenged people.
She said her government is trying to keep education within the reach of all, and its Education Trust Fund aims to implement the plan.
Sheikh Hasina said the Education Trust Fund started journey with Tk 1,000 crore. But the government wants participation of private organisations in this noble cause.
The donations for education and the physically-and mentally-challenged people are exempted from tax, she added.

She hailed private banks for playing important roles in bringing dynamism in the national economy and creating employment.
The donors include BEPZA Executive Chairman Major-General Muhammad Habibur Rahman Khan, M/S Pacific Zeans Director Syed Mohamamd Tanvir, Managing Director of M/S Smart Group of Industries Mujibur Rahman, Evergreen Group Chairman Chang Yoe Chong Felix, Nilesh Zain of M/S Kun Tong Apparels Ltd, Prem Sony of M/S Apic Garments Manufacturing Co. Ltd, Sharif Jahir of Ananta Group, Jalal Ahmed of M/S Qatar Marble Co. BD Ltd and Chairman of United Power Generation and Distribution Co. Ltd former Army Chief General Abul Mubeen.
Managing Director of Bashundhara Group Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Chairman of Amin Mohammad Group MM Enamul Haque, Chairman of Aman Group Rafiqul Islam, REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin, Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries Manwar Hossain, Managing Director of UNIQUE Group Md. Noor Ali, Managing Director of DESH Energy Navidul Huq, Chairman of Innoventure Ptv. Ltd Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, Meghna Group, FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmed, Jitendra Bahadur, country head of Bangladesh TATA Motors, Chairman of Bengal Group and RTV Morshed Alam and Chairman of Crown Cement Group Jahangir Alam also donated money to the PM’s Education Assistance Trust Fund.
