Sk Russel completes transfer formalities

The country’s one of the most top-rated football clubs and Bangladesh Premier Football League outfit Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra completed their player registration formalities 2015-16 in a festive mood with new zeal at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) conference room on Saturday.
Legendary sports patron and Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, leading industrial and business conglomerates in the country, Sayem Sobhan Anvir took over the Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, as the chairman last year with financial security and a pledge of playgrounds.
“Our eyes are fixed on treble win. We did it previously and we are hoping a fresh start. I am overall happy with my boys. Guys are looking confident. We have a little lacking in our lineup as is we have no center back. But I am expecting on our local boys. I want to work more with our local guys,” Maruful Haque said. “I think we should focus to develop mental strength alongside physical power,” he added.
The key feature of Russel’s player registration formalities was purchasing country’s most quality footballers from country’s renowned football clubs. Besides, Ethiopian striker Fikru Teferra, who had a vast contribution to win Atletico Kolkata, joined Russell to usher the mood of the tournament.
“Bashundhara Group aims to display good football and restore the old football legacy. We hope, our Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will fulfill this aim and bring glory this year,” said Maksudur Rahman, secretary to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and secretary to Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
Sheikh Russel KC Vice-chairman Mir Samir and director in-charge Ismat Jamil Akand Lavlu was also present on the occasion. Sheikh Russel KC marked their name in the history books as the first Bangladeshi club to earn a second-round slot in the AFC President’s Cup in 2014. In 2013, Sheikh Russel KC won the treble crown as first ever Bangladesh football club across the country’s domestic football.
