BICL to Supply Cement for Ashuganj Power Plant Construction

Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited (BICL), one of the country’s largest cement manufacturers, signed a corporate agreement with Sinamm Engineering Limited (SEL) Sunday to supply cement for the construction of a power plant. As per the deal, BICL will supply more than 10,000 tonnes cement to SEL to be used at the construction work of the Ashuganj 225 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant. Sayem Sobhan Anvir, managing director (MD) of Bashundhara Group and Nasim Ahmad, managing director (MD) of SEL, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations during a function at Hotel Westin in the capital. Two silos have already been set up at the project area of the power plant, being installed under the supervision of South Korea-based Hyundai Engineering Company Ltd. Engineer Matiur Rahman, chairman, Engineer A N M Irshad and Md Imtiaz Hossen, director of SEL, Mohammad Abu Tayeb, adviser (press and media) of Bashundhara Group, Engineer AKM Mahbub-Uz-Zaman, deputy managing director of Bashundhara Group’s cement sector, Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khandaker Abdul Wahed, Advisor (PR) & Head of HR of Bashundhara Group, M M Jasim Uddin, head of Brand and Marketing of Bashundhara Group, Khandaker Kingshuk Hossain, general manager (Sales, Cement Sector), of Bashundhara Group, Ashikur Rahman, brand manager of Bashundhara Cement, Md Moniruzzaman, in-charge of Corporate Sales Department, Cement Sector, Yu Wang Tai Project Director, Oh Si John, Manager (Finance and Administration) of Hyundai Engineering Co Ltd were also present at the agreement-signing ceremony. Bashundhara Industrial Complex Limited is also supplying cement to another two projects—US Army Cyclone Center Project and Fayel Khayer Project, being implemented by SEL. Around 4 lakh bags of cement will be provided for the two projects.
