Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has provided food aid for 6,000 underprivileged families in Dhaka and Manikganj districts on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Officials of the country’s leading business conglomerate handed over the relief to seven ward councillors of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and the local representatives of Manikganj district for distribution among the poor people.
Among others, ICCB Chief Executive MM Jasim Uddin was present at the simple function on the EWMGL Press premises in Bashundhara residential area in the capital on Saturday.
The instant relief distribution is a part of Bashundhara Group’s continuous support to the insolvent people hit by corona crisis and flooding in the country.
A total of 500 families from their respective wards in Dhaka and 1,300 families in Manikganj would receive the relief.
Each packet of food items contains 5 kg minicate rice, 2 kg lentil, 1 litre soybean oil, 2 kg wheat and 1 packet vermichili.
ICCB Chief Executive MM Jasim Uddin said Bashundhara Group would continue providing food support to the underprivileged and insolvent people in the country.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the food support is a token gift from Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, he said.
