Bashundhara Foundation Distributed Interest Free Micro Credit

Bashundhara Foundation has created employment opportunity for the needy and poor people of Bancharampur Upzila under Brahmanbaria district by providing them interest free micro credit. Bashundhara Foundation is an welfare oriented body of Bashundhara Group, one of the largest corporate houses in the country since 2005. Bashundhara Foundation has been providing interest and service charge free micro credit to 2207 nos. families of 48 villages of 9 unions and has thus helped them to become self- reliant. Bashundhara Foundation has taken steps to extend the area of micro credit programme for the betterment of under privileged and helpless people. In view of this, on 17 December, the Foundation distributed interest free micro credit of total TK 10,000,00 (Ten lack) among 200 disadvantaged people. The senior Executive Director (Accounts and Finance) of Bashundhara Group Mr. Mainal Hossain Chowdhury distributed this loan. Press and Media Advisor of Bashundhara Group Mohammad Abu Tayeb was also present at that time. According to the existing policy guidelines of the Foundation, the loan borrower does not have to pay any installment for first three months after borrowing the money. From 4th months, the borrower has to pay 100 TK in every week of every month, that is 400 TK a month, to return back the loaned money. In this manner, through 50 to 75 installments, the borrower can pay the money back to the foundation and also borrow more money in the future.
