Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a tree plantation campaign at Rajshahi University on Wednesday, aiming to promote environmental protection, climate awareness, and the vision of a greener, more peaceful world.
As part of the campaign, members of Shuvosangho planted a variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing, forest, medicinal, and ornamental trees, at key locations across the university campus.
Professor Md Gias Uddin Ahmed, adviser to the Rajshahi University unit, attended the event as the chief guest. Shuvosangho Vice-President Misshon Chakma provided an overview of the campaign and its objectives.
Prof Gias Uddin Ahmed praised the initiative, stating that such programmes foster social responsibility and environmental consciousness among students.
"Education is not just about reading books. Real education is achieved when we contribute to society and the environment. Shuvosangho is working in that very direction," he said.
Shuvosangho General Secretary Alfaz Uddin and Executive Member Rafia Islam were also present during the event.
