MPA members Mohammed Kibria Haq, Anisur Rahman and Bangerhat Police Super Touhidul Arif were also present on the occasion. Mongla Port has honoured 27 more institutions based on freight shipment.
The unit of Bashundhara Group managed approximately 50 mother vessels at Mongla Port, generating around Tk13 crore revenue in the fiscal year 2023-24 for the country’s second largest sea port.

Additionally, Bashundhara Multi Trading received the ‘best consignee award’ for importing the highest quantity of coal during the same fiscal year, contributing an additional volume to Mongla Port’s revenue. This marks the second consecutive year that both Toggi Shipping and Bashundhara Multi-Trading have achieved this honour.

Regarding the achievement, Captain Mahbubul Alam said Toggi Shipping and Logistics and Bashundhara Multi Trading have emerged as two of the fastest-growing business entities since inception in 2016.
“Alongside our business achievements, Bashundhara Group takes immense pride in contributing to the development of Mongla Port and the nation's overall growth,” he said.

This success has been made possible under the visionary leadership of Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan, according to the official.
Bashundhara Group remains committed to driving sustainable growth and contributing to the nation’s progress through its business endeavours.
The port was established in the Chalna area of Khulna on 1 December, 1950 while the marine facility shifted to Mongla of Bagerhat in 1953 due to geographical reasons.
