Bashundhara Foundation 71st interest and service charge free loan disbursed in Haripur village of Homna upazila, Cumilla, funded by Bashundhara Group, on Wednesday.
Bashundhara group advisor and publisher of East West Media Group Moynal Hossain Chowdhury was present at the event and Imdadul Haque Milon, director of East West Media Group and editor-in-chief of Daily Kaler Kantha, was present as the chief guest.
Also present were Dr. Delwar Hossain Sarkar, Associate Professor of Pediatric Department of Dhaka Medical College, Advocate Nazrul Islam, Mayor of Homna, DGM Maimoon Kabir of Bashundhara Foundation and others.
Chief guest Imdadul Haque Milan said, “I don’t know if there is no interest and service charge free loan distribution not only in Bangladesh but anywhere in the world.”
Bashundhara’s goal is to use this loan properly to become financially self-sufficient and educate her children with good education, he added.
On the occasion, President Moynal Hossain Chowdhury said, “Since the beginning, about 30,000 poor and needy people have benefited under this loan. Bashundhara wants to change the image of the economy of the helpless and poor people of the village.”
He also said that the loan money of Bashundhara Foundation cannot be invested in any illegal activities. Bashundhara Group works for the welfare of country and people. Bashundhara Group extends a hand of help to the needy and poor people of the country during various crises.
Today 200 poor and underprivileged people were distributed with 15 thousand taka each and a total of 30 lakh taka, he added.
He also said that the borrowers are becoming financially self-reliant through 33 schemes of Bashundhara Group with interest and service charge free loans.
