Top eight winners of ‘Quraner Noor’, a national level competition powered by Bashundhara Group, returned to Dhaka on Tuesday after performing Umrah along with their family members.
In addition, ten impoverished individuals performed Umrah along with the Quraner Noor winners.
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Manik, Social Welfare Secretary Nazmul Huda and Bashundhara Group’s Umrah Affairs Coordinator Amir Hossain Mia welcomed them at Dhaka Airport.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir financed the tour.
Hafiz Abdullah Al Maruf, who hails from Manohardi in Narsingdi and was placed eighth in the contest, said that performing Umrah along with family members is a special experience for him.
“Bashundhara Group has fulfilled my dream. I prayed for the chairman and the managing director of the industrial conglomerate and their family members,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to the MD, Hafiz Abu Talha, who has brought prayer mat, attar, and dates as a gift for the MD, said, “I’ve been able to visit the land of the Prophet with my family. He (MD) has a generous personality. I’ve bought them as a gift for him. I pray to Allah for his welfare.”
The team left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on October 17 to perform Umrah under the patronage of Bashundhara Group.
