Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is enriched with 32 crore hands of 16 crore people of the country.
The country will move forward and reach its goal based on concerted efforts of all the people.
“The 32 crore hands will push the country forward. Our main objective is to work for betterment of the people and the country at large. We want to see peace and prosperity of all people.”
Rupganj Awami League senior vice-president Khandker Abul Basar Tuku presided over the meeting. Narayanganj-4 lawmaker Shamim Osman delivered the address of welcome.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir said, “I have been with the people of Rupganj for long. I will stand by them in tackling any critical situation.”
He promised to always remain with Rupganj people in good or bad times.
Sayem Sobhan requested the people to pray for him, his family and Bashundhara Group.
Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said, “Bashundhara Group started its journey in 1988. You (people) know well what a poor condition of infrastructure and life of average people prevailed in the project area. Gradually, we developed the area. Bashundhara Residential Area is now regarded as the best town in the country today.”
He said he can read the mind of the people of Rupganj and feel their pulse.
“I also respect feelings of you (people) and know your sufferings. I love Rupganj. I want to see that you are living in peace. Various crimes, including drug peddling, murder and robbery in the area, are making headlines most frequently. I am shocked at the incidents.”
He made a firm resolution to be with people of Rupganj in their fight against any crime and misrule.
The Bashundhara Group chairman urged the crowd to work for protecting the spirit of the Liberation War. He called upon them to be vigilant to protect country’s independence and sovereignty.
Mentioning that people are the source of all power, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan said, “All crimes and misrule will disappear if people of Rupganj are united. I am and will be among the people of Rupganj, Vulta, Kanchan and Araihazar.”
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude to Rupganj people who have shown so much feeling and regard for us. We hope to meet people again at meeting in Rupganj. We expect more people of the upazila to be present on the occasion. We will work to strengthen the pro-liberation force.”
About contribution of Bashundhara Group, he said, “Our contribution to the national economy is next to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At least 50,000 poor farmers have become millionaire because of us. We just gave effort but almighty Allah helped us.”
The Bashundhara Group chairman vowed to change the economic condition of the people of Rupganj.
“We are involved in such a business which helps other people to be wealthy. An industry not only casts a positive impact on the life of the entrepreneurs and their employees but also on common people,” he said.
“Please, pray for the prime minister and my family. If the PM lives long, she will bring the 16 crore people and country to the climax of development and success. Pray for us so that we can work for protecting the interest of pro-liberation forces,” he added.
