Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings inked the deal with Argentine-born Chilean footballer Raul Becerra as its fourth foreigner on Wednesday. The formalities were held during a contract signing ceremony at Bashundhara Residential Area. The 33-year old center forward Raul will play in the place of his compatriot Hernan Barcos who left the club after the 10-month-contract expiry in October. According to a website named ‘Transfermarkt’ claimed that the Argentine forward joined Kings for euro 1.10 million or approximately Tk 108,735,350.49 which is the highest paid transfer amount for any foreign player in Bangladesh. Raul played for Qatari professional club Umm Salal Sport Club, Ecuadorian club Club Deportivo Cuenca, Chilean club Club de Deportes Iquique, Everton de Vina del Mar and several Argentine club including Argentinos Juniors and Club Atletico Colon. The BPL champions earlier signed two Brazilian midfielders Jonathan da Silveira Fernandes Reis and Robson Azevedo da Silva Robinho, Iranian defender Khaled Shafiei to form a strong team for the upcoming season. The ‘Transfermarkt’ claimed both Fernandes and Robinho joined Kings for euro 725 thousand or approximately Tk 72, 670,317 each while Khaled for euro 500 thousand or approximately Tk 50,20,7531.50.
