Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital held a daylong free medical camp at Malkhanagar in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj, on Saturday. Some 1,000 poor and destitute people received treatment and medicines free of cost at the medical camp at Kazirbagh Chowdhury Bari. The camp was organised in memory of late members of Chowdhury family. Medicine, ENT, eye, gynecologist, orthopedic, surgery, skin, paediatric and dental specialists treated the patients. Hashem Bepari, who has been suffering from asthma, came to the camp and received treatment. He expressed gratitude to Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital for initiating such a free camp. Rahim Mia, who is suffering from eye conditions, also received treatment there. He expressed his happiness to have such an opportunity for free. Dr Wahida Hasin, assistant director of Bashundhara Ad-din Medical College Hospital, said, “The medical college is an associate organisation of the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group. The company has always been working for the welfare of the people. It has already arranged several free medical camps in Munshiganj this year. People of the area will continue to have such treatment facility in the future.” The physicians who took part in the camp included eye specialist Ruhul Amin, paediatric specialist Md Al Amin, medicine specialist Md Saifuzzaman, gynecologist Bristi and dentist Rupa. Ishrat Chowdhury, director of Sea Resource, its assistant manager Md Siddikur Rahman Sumon, programme organiser Md Mashiur Rahman and a member of Chowdhury family Advocate Arshed Uddin Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.
