News24 steps into 3rd year
Privately-run satellite television News24 is celebrating its second anniversary with a renewed pledge to project the country’s positive image across the globe as it steps into third year of operations on Saturday.
From the beginning, the television has been producing round-the-clock news-oriented programmes.
Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir is scheduled to inaugurate the anniversary programme by cutting a cake at a function at International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Saturday morning.
After the cake cutting programme, there will be a reception for Swadhin Bangla Football Team members. Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan will attend the event as chief guest.
“On the occasion of the anniversary this year, we arrange a reception programme for the 15 members of Swadhin Bangla Football Team. Besides, the regular programmes will run as usual,” Shahnaz Munni, Chief News Editor at News24, told the daily sun.
Shahnaz also said the channel will air a live programme on Saturday where invited guests will discuss the present state of media in the country.
The television started its journey as broadcast media entity of East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL), a concern of Bashundhara Group, on July 28 in 2016.
