Kings conclude season with all win record
Bashundhara Kings concluded thir campaign in the seven-team Tricotex 3rd Women’s Football League (WFL) 2020 with an all-win record as the giants outplayed FC Uttar Bango by 14-1 goals in the 12th league match at Bir Sherestha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium on Wednesday.
With the day’s feat, the big-budgeted club bagged full 36 points with 12 consecutive wins from 12 matches. Kings earlier secured title with one match to spare after crushing Jamalpur Kacharipara XI by 13-1 goals in their 11th league match at the same venue last Sunday.
In the day’s match, forward cum captain Sabina Khatun made another hat-trick scoring five goals in the 27th, 33rd, 35th, 38th and 67th minutes respectively. Sabina, also the national women’s team captain scored a total of the highest number of 35 goals in the ongoing league.
Forward Krishna Rani Sarker and defender Sheuli Azim also scored hat-tricks. Krishna netted three goals in the 2nd, 24th and 30th minutes while Sheuli netted in the 5th, 52nd and 91st minutes.
Kings’ two other forwards Tohura Khatun contributed two in the 42nd, 76th minutes and Shirat Jahan Shopna one in the 55th minute.
Forward-cum-captain Mossammat Sultana netted the consolation goal for FC Uttar Bango in the 88th minute.
In the day’s other match, Nasrin Sports Academy secured the second-place beating Jamalpur Kacharipara XI by 5-1 goals at the same venue.
Forward Sajeda Khatun scored a brace in the 19th and 48th minutes while forward Marzia, midfielder Ritu Porna Chakma and Sohagi Kisku added one each in the 4th, 56th and 80th minutes respectively for the winners.
Midfielder Shirina Akter scored one in the 27th minute for Kacharipara.
