Bashundhara’s Portland cement hits market soon

Bashundhara Cement, a concern of Bashundhara Group, is going to start marketing ordinary Portland cement and Portland composite cement across the country shortly.
Besides, the company will market blast-furnace cement, first of its kind in the country, next year.
Md Saiful Islam Helali, chief marketing officer (cement sector) of Bashundhara Group, made this announcement during a presentation for the engineers of the Public Works Department (PWD) in the capital recently.
The presentation was made on the concluding day of a two-day-long discussion organised by the PWD marking the annual conference 2012-13 of the PWD at the conference room of Purta Bhaban recently.
Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan, state minister for housing and public works, attended the conference as chief guest.
Md Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan, chief engineer of the Public Works Directorate, presided over the discussion.
The annual conference reviewed overall activities of the engineers across the country.
Saiful Islam Helali said, “The quality of blast-furnace cement manufactured by Bashundhara Cement is now under research by the House Building Research Institute.”
Md Shamsuddin, plant in-charge of Madanganj factory of Bashundhara Cement, also discussed various technical issues.
During the presentation, the officials of Bashundhara Group and Bashundhara Cement shared information about King Brand Cement and Bashundhara Cement with the PWD engineers.
They also informed the PWD engineers about the production capacity of the factory and also state-of-the-art technology that the company was utilising in its manufacturing unit.
Chittaranjan Das, additional chief engineer of PWD, superintending engineers and executive engineers of PWD were present on the occasion.
