Bashundhara inks deal with Belgian firm
Bashundhara LP Gas Limited (BLPGL), a concern of the country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, signed an agreement with DEC, Belgium to build new vessels for carrying LP gas across the country.
Md Belayet Hossain, Senior Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the Bashundhara Group, and DEC Belgium Managing Director Luc Zecchinon signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at Bashundhara Industrial Headquarters-1 in the city on Thursday.
Under the agreement, Bashundhara LP Gas will build two new modern LP gas carrying vessels with the help of local company Radiant Shipyard. DEC, Belgium will provide design, European technology and machinery.
Owning to the new addition, it will be easier for Bashundhara Group to carry LP Gas through waterways across the country. The vessels will be built following the local and foreign rules and regulations. Among others, Bashundhara Group Senior Advisor AR Rashidi, Bashundhara LP Gas Head of Division (supply chain) Abdus Shukur and its Project Manager Sharif Md Yusuf Bhuiyan and Radiant Shipyard director Shahriar Ahmed were present at the signing ceremony.
