Bashundhara Cement Victory Day Football Tournament 2015 was inaugurated at Mohammadpur in Magura on Sunday. Bangladesh Cricket Control Board Operation Director and former Bangladesh National Cricket Team captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy, MP, inaugurated the programme at 2 pm as chief guest.
Former footballer Ekramul Haque Chowdhury, MP, and Aslamul Haque, MP, also attended the event as special guests.
In the tournament opener, Khulna District team defeated Jhenaidah District team by 3-0 in tie-breaker.
Famous singers Fakir Alamgir, Mila and Close Up-1 star Palash performed in the evening after the opening match.
Traditional high-profile clubs like Dhaka Abahani and Mohammedan are taking part in this tournament. Total ten clubs are fighting for the title.
