Baba Rafi Kebab outlet opens at Bashundhara
Bashundhara Group, the leading business conglomerate in the country, has opened an outlet of Kebab Turki Baba Rafi, a globally-recognised largest Indonesian food chain owned by Baba Rafi, at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Monday.
Daily Kaler Kantho Editor Imdadul Haq Milon inaugurated the franchise ‘Container Kebab’ by cutting a ribbon at a programme in front of the main gate of North South University in the area. The Kebab Turki outlet will offer 100 percent halal (permissible) food.
Speaking on the occasion, the editor of the newspaper said: “What Bashundhara Group is doing is for the betterment of people and the country. The objective of such food shop is to provide fresh food for students at a cheaper rate.
“This sort of outlet will be set up in every town and popular areas of the country gradually. Many of them will be set up in the capital.”
Arif Hasan Mahmud, manager (production) of Baba Rafi in Bangladesh, told daily sun that this type of outlet has been launched for the first time here in Bangladesh.
There are three types of such chain store which are kiosk, container and restaurant. Kiosk and container types of food chain will be opened in the country, he added.
Brand Manager of Bashundhara Group Samsuddoha Safayet said, “Kebab Turki Baba Rafi operates 1200 outlets in more than 10 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, China, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands.
“Each item will be sold at Tk 99 here as promotional offer.”
The event was also attended by Hanif Hakim, DGM of Bashundhara Group, Kazi Mosharrof Hossain, operation manager of Baba Rafi in Bangladesh, and Shakiruzzaman, project coordinator of Baba Rafi.
Earlier, Bashundhara Group signed a franchise agreement in this regard with the Indonesian food chain. Safwan Sobhan, Additional Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, and Hendy Setiono, CEO and Founder of Baba Rafi Enterprise, inked the deal on behalf of their respective sides.
